These British Forces Individual Protection Kits (IPKs) are a survival shelter in a pouch and consist of an olive green waterproof sheet, steel tent pegs and cords. Designed as an emergency single-use battlefield shelter for up to two soldiers, each IPK is packed in a sealed waterproof pouch. Also comes with detailed instructions for making one or two man shelters. IPKs can be quickly modified into a low cost re-usable basha by fitting either tarpaulin clips, rings, grommets or eyelets (widely available on the web). The sealed kit is a bushcraft and survival essential which is easily dropped into a go bag because of its compact size and light weight, offering a versatile range of survival applications with the enclosed contents such as: shelter, emergency blanket, emergency poncho, groundsheet for gathering water, food or wood.
